Picture Polish Tail Feather is one of the 2014 blogger collaboration polishes, it’s with Kayla Shevonne.

Tail Feather is a beautiful and bright spring green loaded with micro flakies in different colors, it’s such a happy color. The formula is easy to work with, and it needs 2-3 coats. This is 3 coats without a top coat.
Do you like this bright green beauty!?
I bought it from Pretty Polish! Teir website now is in English too - have a look!

Violas animal print nail art

The base color is Rainbow Honey Viola and the green spots are made with Rainbow Honey Tayabak, see swatches of both HERE, and the rest is black acrylic craft paint. The top coat is Seche Vite.

I’ll let you be the judge and decide whether it is a leopard or a poisonous frog ;)
So, now I'm curious - it is a leopard or a poisonous frog :D

I bought both Rainbow Honey polishes from Edgy Polish!

OPI La Paz-itively Hot and La Pazatively Hot Matte comparison

As promised last week when I showed swatches of both in THIS post:
OPI La Paz-itively Hot comes in a "normal" shiny version and in a Matte - and such matters tickle my curiosity, I HAVE to check and investigate ;)

So this is a comparison also including playing around with matte and shiny top coats: Could I have bought just one of them and made it look like the other with a top coat??
OPI La Paz-itively Hot Matte on index and pinkie - OPI La Paz-itively Hot on middle and ring ringer

OPI La Paz-itively Hot Matte - OPI La Paz-itively Hot - both "as is"

OPI La Paz-itively Hot Matte WITH "shiny" top coat - OPI La Paz-itively Hot "as is"

OPI La Paz-itively Hot Matte WITH "shiny" top coat - OPI La Paz-itively Hot WITH a "matte" top coat...

I have to conclude they are different - you cannot make them look alike just by playing with top coats :)
What do you think..?

Tail Feather flowers

The base color is Picture Polish Tail Feather, see swatches HERE, and a fresh, bright spring green like this calls for flowers. I painted a floral vine in acrylic craft colors, and the top coat is Seche Vite.
Do you like it, or would you have preferred more contrast in the flowers against the base color..?

I bought Tail Feathers from Pretty Polish - they now have a website in English - have a look HERE!

It's time for a new part of The Never Ending Haul Story :)
Remember the polishes shown in these posts are not from one single haul, I simply photograph them as they arrive and post a number of photos :)
I got these two gorgeous red beauties for Christmas - so yes, I am far behind with my haul posts...
Many rare Chanel polishes arrived too...
And a few other pre-owned polishes
- and below you find swatch polishes from the sweet Katarina from Edgy Polish- I have shown swatches of them all..
- and below one new - and many old/pre-owned including some really rare Chanel polishes
So, that's it for this time...

Will The Never Ending Haul Story continue? Will Maria buy more polish?? Does she ever get enough???
Are you confused - you won't be after the next episode, if there is going to be one....;)

Dior Grenade - Garnet swatches and comparisons - Collaboration Saturday

Elena from PicturedTinsel and I have new swatches for you this Collaboration Saturday!!

Dior Grenade – Garnet 565 is a hot fuchsia/magenta pink with a beautiful shimmer – just like I love ‘em :) I’m pretty sure it is from 2009, and it has the lovely “old brush” that since spring 2014 now is the "new brush" replacing the in my mind dreaded broad beaver-tail brush.

This is two easy coats and the finish is shiny and beautiful!
- and a comparison, as you can see the brand new Front Row is more red, and looks just like Chanel Tentation.
I simply Love Grenade/Garnet and I'm so happy to have an extra bottle of it.
Now let's see what Elena has for us today, shall we..?

Barielle Falling Star swatches

Barielle Falling Star has been on my wish list for a long time, and recently we had a “random act of kindness” swap with used polishes in a Faced Book group. The receiver did not in advance know what or from whom – and I was lucky to get Falling Star along with 5 other polishes :D – thank you so much Annette N!
Falling Star is a medium blue with pretty copper glitters, and I like how subtle and yet eye catching they are. This is two coats with a coat of Seche Vite!
Do you like Falling Star..?

Chanel Beige D'Or 24 swatches over different colors - vintage

Chanel Beige D’Or 24– is not the same as the later Beige D’Or 223. I do not know how old it is, but it’s clearly a vintage, probably from the 90's, and not seen for sale very often.

Beige D’Or 24 is a beautiful gold shimmer in a very sheer beige base. It would look gorgeous on its own on nails without the ridges I have.

So I chose to show it in 1 coat as a topper over four Chanel polishes: Black Satin 219, Suspicious 561, Blue Rebel 553 and Mysterious 601.
I'm not too fond of it over Blue Rebel, but I do like the other layerings - what do you think..?

Cirque Sky Woman - Heritage Coll. swatches

Cirque Sky Woman is one of the 7 polishes from the Heritage coll. It’s a periwinkle leaning mid blue holo. In low light it looks like a jeans polish, but in the sun, the holo comes out to play. The formula is on the thick side, but in the good way - it is very opaque in one coat, but needs two coats. The dry time is good. The finish is not quite as shiny as I prefer, so I added a coat of Seche Vite.
Do you like Sky Woman?
I bought her from Pretty Polish in Holland, they offer worldwide shipping!

Nails Inc. swatches Sumner Place and Royal Botanical Gardens

In this post you can meet two random pastels from Nails Inc.
Nails Inc Sumner Place is a beautiful pastel yellow cream. The formula has a good self-leveling ability and it is easy to work with, and 2-3 coats are enough. This is 3 coats without a top coat.

Royal Botanical Gardens:
Nails Inc Royal Botanical Gardens is a light sky blue cream. The formula has a good self-leveling ability and it is easy to work with. This is 2 coats without a top coat.
I cannot choose which is the prettiest - fortunately have them both and love them ;)
How do you feel about them, any favorite?

Catrice Haute Future swatches: Eletrix Blue and GaLILACxy (also layered)

Here you two of the LE Haute Future collection from Catrice:

C01 Eletrix Blue is a pale blue-grey holo. It’s easy to apply and the dry time is good. This is 2 coats without a top coat.

GaLILACxy:
C04 GaLILACxy is a pale duochrome polish shifting from pink to silver grey to a subtle beige bronze – not really my color at all, but I believed it was a topper.
So at first I chose to show it in 1 coat over index to pinkie: Indigo blue, eggplant purple, red and bubblegum pink – no top coat.
BUT I realized that it wasn’t ideal to layer it, so here it is in 3 coats – 2 coats would have been enough too…
Do you like them...?
I'm not a huge fan, but they are OK I guess...

Picture Polish Bridget swatches

Picture Polish Bridget is one of the Opulence shades. All the swatches I have seen indicate it would be more red, so I was surprised to see how burnt red/brick red it is.
Unfortunately Blogger doesn't help here - it does shows it more red, but in person it isn't...
It is packed with scattered holo and it has a beautiful depth. It dries with an even and glossy finish. It is fairly opaque in one coat, but this is 2 coats, and I added a coat of Seche Vite before I took the photos.

Bridget is inspired by Bridget Jones (Bridget Jones’s diary) – and I absolutely love Bridget :)
Do you like this Bridget...?
I bought Bridget from Pretty Polish!

Rococco Nail Apparel swatches: Jaded and Kitsch

Today I have two Roccoco Nail Apparel polishes to show you, and they are both in the mint-Tiffany blue-green range. Their formula has a good self leveling ability, the application is easy and the dry time is good. Both of them are very opaque in one coat, but they are shown in two coats.

Jaded:
Jaded is a blue-green very close to a Tiffany box, and it has a subtle silver shimmer

Kitsch:
Kitsch is a slightly dusty, grey-toned mint.
What do you think...?
My favorite is Jaded, Kitsch is too dusty/grey toned for me...

Abstract nail art on Orange Fizz

The base color is Chanel Orange Fizz 307, see watches HERE, and it called for some black lines, so I grabbed my black striper – and then a little green also joined the party – and the top coat is Seche Vite – end of story :)

Do you like it..?

Sally Hansen swatches: Go Bananas and Jade Jump

Go Bananas is one of the Complete Salon Manicure shades. It’s a sheer pale pastel yellow with a subtle shimmer. The formula is a bit on the thin side, but fairly OK to manage and with an OK dry time for the first coats. This is however four coats over a ridge filler base coat and without a top coat. On nails without ridges two-three coats would be enough.

Jade Jump:
Jade Jump is one of the Insta-Dri shades. It’s a very well pigmented jade green cream polish, one coat might be enough, but this is two coats without a topcoat. The self-leveling ability is not too good, but also not bad. Dry time is average.
Do you like them?

Candeo Jellybean swatches

Candeo Jellybean is a pastel yellow base with hex glitters in micro and small in the colors medium blue, purple and pink. I might not be a glitter girl, but a pastel yellow it is, so I needed it in my collection, right ;)
This is two easy coats with a coat of Seche Vite.
Do you like Jellybean?

Abstract floral nail art on hot pink

The base color is OPI La Paz-itively Hot, see swatches HERE, and I decided to do a quick nail art with a black striper, but then the striper took over at it became a little more, and it even invited another brush to paint a flower – tst, tsk, brushes nowadays ;) The top coat is Seche Vite.
What do you think?

Ciate Dolls House collection swatches: Poppet and Sweet Pea - what a disappointment

$

I truly debated with myself, should I or shouldn't I post this, but here you go, even with embarrassing photos, or rather good photos of embarrassing application...
Ciate Dolls House collection has 5 polishes all with the Ciate Porcelaine effect line that dries matte, I chose to buy Poppet and Sweet Pea, and I am so happy I didn’t buy more, the formula leaves much to be desired!

Poppet is a pretty pale lilac shade. The formula isn’t as terrible as the formula of Sweet Pea, but it dries fast and has a very poor self-leveling ability. Even if it looks fairly OK when still wet, any wrong move the brush made reveals itself when dry - and it really clings to my ridges, even if i did use a ridge filler base coat.

 - here it is with a coat of top coat that helped a lot..:

Sweet Pea:
Sweet Pea is a slightly grey-toned, dusty super pale mint green.

It has a terrible formula, even if you work fast with a loaded brush it dries so fast and chalky that it’s impossible to get even, and any imperfection in the nail or the previous coat shows. I gave up after 3 coats – and am embarrassed to show it....

- and here with top coat - now it's much better...
Normally I like Ciate polishes - but these really were a disappointment...

Elena from PicturedTinsel  and I are ready for yet another Collaboration Saturday!
Estee Lauder 20 Hot Fuchsia– is a slightly blue-toned and fairly dark pink creme. It is very opaque in one coat, but this is two coats without a top coat.

I got it in a nail polish lot on Ebay, and I did a Google search trying to find out the age of it, but I had no luck.
Do you like this Hot Fuchsia..?
Let's see what  Elena has for us today..?
